PURCHASE MANAGER – A TO Z GROUP SUPERMARKETS & HYPERMARKET OPERATIONS
Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for end-to-end procurement and buying operations for A to Z Group’s Supermarket and Hypermarket formats.
The role focuses on vendor management, cost optimization, inventory planning, and ensuring uninterrupted product availability while maintaining margins and quality standards across all stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute purchase strategies across FMCG, fresh, non-food, and general merchandise categories for supermarkets and hypermarkets.
- Ensure timely procurement to maintain optimum stock levels and prevent stock-outs or excess inventory.
- Identify, onboard, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers aligned with A to Z Group standards.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, discounts, schemes, and promotional support to improve gross margins.
- Monitor inventory turnover, ageing stock, slow-moving items, and shrinkage risks.
- Coordinate closely with store operations, warehouse, and supply chain teams for demand forecasting and replenishment planning.
- Work with the finance team on budget control, payments, vendor reconciliations, and cost analysis.
- Support pricing strategies, promotions, and seasonal buying plans across all formats.
- Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs, documentation, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Prepare and review MIS reports on purchases, margins, vendor performance, and market trends.
- Handle centralized purchasing for multiple A to Z Group outlets.
- Support new store openings, format expansion, and initial stock planning.
- Improve gross margins on a category-wise basis.
- Track market prices, competition activity, and supplier trends.
- Provide real-time cost insights to support pricing and promotion decisions.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of supermarket and hypermarket buying & sourcing.
- Expertise in inventory planning, replenishment, and cost control.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
10–15 years of experience in organized retail, preferably supermarkets and hypermarkets.
- Proven experience handling large SKU volumes across multiple categories.
- Exposure to centralized buying and multi-store retail operations.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
