- Automation & Controls: Programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and robot controllers (e.g., Fanuc, ABB) to ensure proper stamping sequences.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Managing electrical maintenance for motors, drives, sensors, transformers, and switchgear.
- Preventative/Predictive Maintenance: Developing and scheduling maintenance plans to minimize downtime, such as inspecting high-voltage power distribution (e.g., 480V) to low-voltage control systems.
- Project Management & Upgrades: Designing and installing new electrical systems, including PLC upgrades or press control renovations.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all machinery meets safety codes (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) regarding electrical safety and machine guarding.
- Technical Support: Training maintenance technicians, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns during production shifts, and improving efficiency.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in PLCs, motor drives (VFDs), industrial communication protocols, and CAD software for reviewing electrical schematics.
- Experience: Proven experience with industrial automation, preferably in a manufacturing, heavy industry, or automotive stamping environment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to rapidly diagnose and fix production-critical malfunctions.
