Role Summary
The AutoCAD Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate civil and structural drawings for industrial factory and PEB projects, ensuring that all layouts, foundations, and details are clear, coordinated, and construction-ready. This role directly supports design and project teams by minimizing drawing-related rework, maintaining robust revision control, and enabling smooth execution at site.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update 2D plans, sections, elevations, and detailed shop drawings for industrial factory/PEB projects based on engineer/architect inputs and mark-ups.
- Develop and revise layout drawings, RCC and steel foundation drawings, machine foundation details, utility blocks, internal roads, and drainage layouts in AutoCAD.
- Ensure adherence to company and project drawing standards, including layering, dimensioning, title blocks, scales, and plotting formats (A1/A2/A3).
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and file naming conventions to ensure traceability and clear communication with design and project teams.
- Coordinate with in-house structural/civil engineers, project managers, and site engineers to clarify drawing requirements and incorporate feedback from site.
- Support preparation of as-built and record drawings by incorporating red-marked drawings and site measurements, ensuring alignment with executed works.
- Contribute to quality and cost control by identifying drawing inconsistencies early, reducing rework, and supporting standardized detailing practices across projects
Essential requirements
- 0.5–2 years of hands-on experience as AutoCAD Draftsman in building or industrial projects (factory/warehouse/workshop preferred, internships can be considered)
- Strong command of AutoCAD 2D for preparation of plans, sections, elevations, and detailed shop drawings
- Ability to read and understand civil/structural drawings (RCC/steel), levels, dimensions, and basic reinforcement details
- Experience in preparing and updating layout drawings, foundation drawings, and detail drawings based on engineer/architect mark-ups
- Good understanding of drawing standards, layering, dimensioning, title blocks, and plotting for A1/A2/A3 formats
- Basic knowledge of industrial building components such as machine foundations, utility blocks, internal roads, and drainage layouts
- Ability to maintain drawing registers, revision control, and proper file/drawing naming conventions
- Willingness to work from office in Indore and coordinate closely with design and project teams under tight timelines
Bonus qualifications
- Exposure to industrial factory projects (shop floors, PEB sheds, utility buildings, or warehouses)
- Basic working knowledge of 3D tools (e.g., SketchUp or Revit) for visualization and coordination
- Experience in preparing as-built drawings from red-marked site drawings
- Familiarity with IS codes and standard detailing practices for industrial structures
- Prior experience coordinating with site engineers or vendors for drawing clarifications
