SPiZ NFusE, a fusion-energy-based deep-tech startup working on next-generation fusion-energy technologies, is looking for a young, bright, committed, and technically motivated Chemical Engineer to join our R&D Laboratory.
The selected candidate will work as part of the R&D team on the development, testing, and optimization of chemical and process systems for advanced fusion-energy applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop purification systems for liquid-metal loops.
- Develop techniques for the removal of corrosion products, activation products, dissolved impurities, and other contaminants from liquid metals.
- Conduct laboratory experiments related to liquid-metal purification and chemical processing.
- Study corrosion behavior and corrosion-product generation, transport, and removal in liquid-metal systems.
- Investigate chemical compatibility of structural materials with liquid metals and high-temperature process environments.
- Design and test filtration, trapping, adsorption, extraction, and purification methods for liquid-metal systems.
- Design and develop heat exchangers for high-temperature liquid-metal systems.
- Work on the conceptual development and experimental investigation of isotope separation systems and heat/mass-transfer equipment.
- Study hydrogen-isotope separation, recovery, purification, and handling for fusion applications.
- Perform data acquisition, experimental analysis, uncertainty analysis, and validation of experimental results.
- Use computational tools such as COMSOL, or equivalent software for modeling and analysis.
Desired Background
- B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid mechanics, separation processes, reaction engineering, and process design.
- Practical laboratory/research experience will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of liquid metals, molten salts, corrosion, isotope separation, hydrogen isotopes, or nuclear/fusion technologies is desirable.
- Good computational and data-analysis skills.
- Ability to independently perform experiments, analyze results, and troubleshoot experimental systems.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
