About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Import & Export Intern who is interested in learning international trade, export-import documentation, logistics coordination, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance.
The selected candidate will work closely with senior team members and gain practical exposure to Import & Export operations, DGFT, GST, EOU procedures, customs processes, shipping documentation, and international trade activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and maintaining import and export documents such as invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and other relevant documents.
- Support coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
- Assist in tracking shipment schedules and maintaining shipment-related records.
- Support the team in customs clearance documentation and related processes.
- Maintain accurate records of import and export transactions.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with company procedures and applicable import-export regulations.
- Assist in preparing MIS and reports using MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Procurement, Production, Stores, and Finance as required.
- Learn and understand DGFT, GST, EOU procedures, customs processes, and international trade documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
Required Skills
- Graduate in MBA (Finance / International Business) or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to learn Import & Export documentation and processes.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of logistics or international trade will be an advantage.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Basic understanding of Import & Export procedures.
- Basic knowledge of GST, DGFT, Customs, or shipping documentation.
- Academic/project exposure to International Trade, Logistics, or EXIM.
- Candidates who have completed a course in Export-Import Management may be preferred.
