We are a growing manufacturing company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, setting up a modern facility for high-quality white pigment pastes and specialty dispersions for screen printing and industrial applications. We are building strong supplier relationships for critical raw materials including Titanium Dioxide, dispersants, binders, and additives.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Purchase Executive with experience in chemical raw material procurement. The role involves sourcing, vendor development, and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality supply of raw materials for our pigment paste manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to grow with a new setup and take ownership of the complete procurement cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure key raw materials such as Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂), dispersing agents, wetting agents, binders, thickeners, defoamers, and other additives used in pigment dispersions and printing pastes.
- Identify and develop reliable vendors (both local Gujarat suppliers and import sources) with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate with the technical/R&D team for sample procurement, lab trials, and vendor evaluation based on technical specifications (COA, TDS, performance in dispersions).
- Handle end-to-end procurement process including enquiries, quotations, negotiations, purchase orders, and follow-up for timely delivery.
- Manage import-related documentation and coordination (LC, customs clearance, shipping) for imported raw materials.
- Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, and performance tracking.
- Ensure proper documentation, quality checks on incoming materials, and compliance with required standards.
- Support inventory planning and help maintain optimal stock levels of critical raw materials.
- Continuously explore new suppliers and alternative materials to improve cost and quality.
Requirements
Must Have:
- 3–6 years of experience in purchase / procurement of chemical raw materials (preferably in pigments, dispersions, paints, inks, coatings, or specialty chemicals industry).
- Hands-on experience sourcing Titanium Dioxide, dispersants, resins, or similar raw materials.
- Good knowledge of Gujarat chemical industry suppliers (Ankleshwar, Vapi, etc.) and import procedures.
- Strong negotiation, vendor development, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with technical teams and understand basic product specifications.
- Based in Ahmedabad or nearby areas (preferred) with willingness to travel for supplier visits.
Good to Have:
- Experience in a manufacturing setup (new plant or expansion projects).
- Knowledge of quality systems and documentation (COA review, incoming inspection).
- Familiarity with ERP or basic procurement software.
