Job Description:
CRAPTS is seeking a skilled and motivated Bridge Hydraulic Engineer to join our engineering team. The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out hydrological and hydraulic analyses for bridges, culverts, and other cross-drainage structures for highway and infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing hydraulic design reports, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams during DPR and detailed design stages.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering with specialization or relevant experience in Hydraulics/Hydrology Engineering
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in bridge hydraulic design and analysis.
- Experience in National Highway, State Highway, Railway, or other infrastructure projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hydrological and hydraulic analyses for bridges, culverts, and cross-drainage structures.
- Determine design discharge, High Flood Level (HFL), scour depth, afflux, waterway, and related hydraulic parameters.
- Develop and review hydraulic models using industry-standard software.
- Prepare hydraulic design reports and technical documentation in accordance with IRC, IS Codes, MoRTH, and NHAI guidelines.
- Analyze river survey, catchment, rainfall, flood, and topographical data.
- Coordinate with bridge design, highway, geotechnical, and survey teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Provide technical support during design reviews and client presentations.
- Ensure timely completion of project deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
- Proficiency in any hydraulic modelling software.
- Knowledge of IRC, IS Codes, MoRTH, and NHAI specifications related to bridge hydraulics.
- Experience in interpretation of survey and hydrological data.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and technical report preparation.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in DPR preparation for highway and bridge projects.
- Knowledge of river morphology and flood frequency analysis.
- Familiarity with GIS-based applications will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary infrastructure consulting teams.
