Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Engineer – Pipes, Fittings & Flanges
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports To: QA/QC Manager.
Location: Khetwadi & Taloja
Employment Type: Full-time.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Inspector/Engineer to oversee the quality assurance of steel pipes, fittings, and flanges. The primary role involves ensuring that all materials meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements through rigorous inspection, dimensional checks, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Testing
- Dimensional Inspection: Perform precise dimensional measurements on pipes (diameter, wall thickness, length, ovality), fittings (elbows, tees, reducers), and flanges (bore, bolt circle, face finish) using calibrated tools (Vernier calipers, micrometers, pi tapes, height gauges).
- Visual Inspection: Conduct visual inspections to detect surface defects (cracks, laminations, scratches, pitting) and verify surface finish/coating.
- Material Verification: Verify material grade by conducting PMI (Positive Material Identification) if required, or by correlating physical markings with documentation.
- Witnessing Testing: Witness and verify mechanical tests (Hardness, Tensile, Flattening, Bend tests) and Non-Destructive Tests (DP, UT, MPI, Radiography) as per the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
2. Documentation & MTC Review

- Traceability: Ensure full traceability of materials from receipt to dispatch, maintaining heat number and tag number integrity.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and final inspection dossiers for client review.
