Establish SOPs, change-management processes, and network standards across the team for consistent operations.
4 Upskill the team
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and technical upskilling for junior and mid-level engineers.
5 Report to senior management
Liaise with senior management to report on network health, ongoing risks, and capacity / upgrade planning.
1 Configure & maintain Cisco & FortiGate networks
Configure and maintain enterprise networks using Cisco and FortiGate equipment.
2. Layer 2 / Layer 3 design & troubleshooting
Own design and troubleshooting of STP, RSTP, VTP, VLANs, HSRP, and VRRP.
3. BGP, OSPF & routing governance
Manage BGP sessions on ASR, route-maps, route-policies, AS-path policies, OSPF, and failover routing strategies.
4. VPN solutions & remote access
Implement and oversee VPN solutions (Site-to-Site, SSL, IPSec) and remote access policies.
5. High availability — MLAG, VPC, Port-Channel
Maintain high availability using MLAG, VPC, and Port-Channel technologies.
7. Firewalls, ACLs & FortiGate UTM
Secure and segment networks using firewalls, ACLs, and advanced FortiGate UTM features.
8. Vendor & cross-team collaboration
Lead vendor and cross-team collaboration for upgrades, migrations, and major incident response.
9. Root cause analysis & optimization
Drive RCA for recurring / critical issues and lead infrastructure optimization initiatives.
10. Documentation & topology upkeep
Ensure comprehensive documentation of topologies, configurations, and SOPs is maintained and current.
