Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with expertise in Solid Edge and SolidWorks to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical products, components, and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet industry standards, project requirements, and company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Solid Edge and SolidWorks for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Develop and modify designs based on project specifications, engineering principles, and customer requirements.
- Conduct design analysis, stress testing, and simulations to validate product performance and durability.
- Work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform design optimizations to improve product functionality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and revision control.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components.
- Stay updated with the latest CAD tools, industry trends, and engineering best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in Solid Edge and SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drafting, and simulations.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and mechanical design principles.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sheet metal design, plastic molding, or machining processes.
- Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
