Role Description
This is an internship role as an Trainee/Junior Engineer - Software Testing, based on-site at our Chennai location. The role involves participating in software testing activities, identifying and reporting bugs, ensuring quality assurance, and collaborating with the development team to improve software applications. The intern will also engage in manual and automated testing processes while gaining practical experience in laboratory informatics and automation software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and design test plans.
- Execute manual tests to ensure software quality and functionality.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
- Perform regression testing to verify resolved issues.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts, as needed.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability.
- Communicate test results and findings to the development team.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools and methodologies.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field qualification
Requirements: 1–3 Years relevant experience – Trainee/Junior Software Tester
- Basic knowledge of programming/scripting:
- Familiarity with automation tools like Selenium and basic knowledge of Python (or any scripting language) to understand and execute test scripts.
- Understanding of testing concepts: Good understanding of software testing fundamentals, SDLC/STLC, test case creation, defect lifecycle, and basic testing types (manual & automation).
- Exposure to testing tools: Hands-on experience or exposure to test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) and basic knowledge of automation frameworks is an added advantage.
- Attention to detail: Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and edge cases to ensure application quality and reliability. Capability to understand requirements, analyse test scenarios, and validate expected outcomes.

- Communication and teamwork: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, developers, and stakeholders.
