Full Job Description
The Car Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for the management and staff of the institution. The role requires adherence to traffic regulations, vehicle maintenance standards, and organizational protocols while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and confidentiality at all times.
Experience & Skills Required
- Experience in driving automatic cars is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid driving license.
- Well-groomed and professional in appearance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Street-smart with sound knowledge of routes and traffic conditions.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and responsibly.
Key Responsibilities1. Transportation & Logistics
- Safely transport Directors, senior management, and staff for meetings, official visits, and assignments.
- Ensure punctual pickup and drop as per schedule.
- Plan efficient travel routes considering traffic and time sensitivity.
- Deliver official documents, parcels, or materials when required.
2. Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
- Conduct daily inspections of fuel, engine oil, coolant, brakes, tyres, lights, and battery.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks including mileage, fuel consumption, and trip details.
- Ensure timely servicing, insurance renewal, pollution certificate (PUC), and registration compliance.
- Immediately report accidents, damages, or mechanical issues to the Administration Office.
3. Safety & Discipline
- Strictly follow traffic rules and road safety regulations.
- Practice defensive and responsible driving.
- Avoid rash, negligent, or unauthorized driving.
- Ensure seat belt compliance for all passengers.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding official discussions and institutional matters.
4. Professional Conduct
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous behaviour.
- Show respect and discipline while interacting with management, staff, and visitors.
- Refrain from personal use of the institution’s vehicle.
- Be flexible to work beyond regular hours when required.
