Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for handling advanced technical tasks including customer site surveys, technical planning before installations, and resolving complex customer issues that cannot be solved by the junior technical team. This role requires strong technical knowledge in networking and surveillance systems, along with the ability to guide field engineers and ensure proper technical execution of projects.
The position involves limited field work, mainly for site surveys, technical inspections, and escalation cases where senior-level troubleshooting is required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Site Surveys & Technical Planning
- Conduct technical site surveys before installations to evaluate feasibility and requirements.
- Assess networking infrastructure, cable routes, and installation requirements for new projects.
- Recommend suitable equipment, connectivity solutions, and installation methods.
- Prepare survey reports and technical plans for the installation team.
2. Advanced Technical Troubleshooting
- Handle customer complaints and technical issues that cannot be resolved by junior engineers.
- Diagnose and resolve complex networking, connectivity, or equipment-related problems.
- Provide guidance and technical support to field engineers during difficult troubleshooting cases.
3. Technical Supervision
- Support and guide junior field engineers and technical staff during installations and service work.
- Ensure installations are done according to company standards and technical guidelines.
- Assist in improving technical processes and troubleshooting procedures.
4. Network & System Support
- Support installation and configuration of routers, switches, wireless devices, and networking systems when required.
- Assist with CCTV systems, DVR/NVR configuration, and surveillance networks.
- Review and validate technical setups done by field engineers.
5. Client Communication
- Interact with clients during surveys or complex technical issues.
- Provide professional guidance and explain technical solutions to customers.
- Maintain strong client relationships through reliable support.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed site survey reports and technical recommendations.
- Maintain records of technical escalations and resolutions.
- Document complex troubleshooting procedures for internal reference.
Qualifications Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in networking, ISP, or technical support roles.
- Experience with field networking, CCTV systems, and technical troubleshooting preferred.
Educational Background
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Networking, or related technical field.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, wireless networking & connectivity
- Understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
- Experience with CCTV installation and networking systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to guide junior technical staff
- Good communication and customer-handling skills
Requirements
- Must have own bike and laptop for work purposes.
- Willingness to travel for site surveys and escalation cases when required.
- Ability to support and supervise junior technical staff.
Working Hours
9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Additional hours may be required depending on project or customer needs.
