Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to work orders and emergency calls to repair or replace equipment and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and repair hospital support systems, including generators, air handlers, compressors, medical gas systems, and elevators.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the setup, movement, and maintenance of hospital furniture and medical equipment.
- Support infection control measures by maintaining clean and safe environments.
- Participate in facility safety checks and ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, and local codes.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to minimize disruption of services during repairs.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; report needs for replenishment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Certifications: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related certifications are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Knowledge of building systems and hospital safety protocols.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Availability to work on-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Work Environment:
- Hospital setting with exposure to mechanical systems, biohazards, and high-traffic areas.
- PPE is required during specific tasks or emergency responses.
