Job Responsibilities
- Manage and control CNC machining operations across A, B, and C shifts.
- Deploy manpower effectively based on skill matrix and job criticality.
- Handle shift handovers and operator productivity at shop floor level.
- Monitor progress against machining schedules and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Ensure readiness of machines, tools, fixtures and NC data before job start.
- Conduct detailed die drawing study to assess machining feasibility, sequences, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
- Identify machining risks and suggest design for manufacturing inputs when required.
- Ensure optimum utilization of CNC machines by minimizing idle time, setup loss, and breakdown impact.
- Troubleshoot machining problems related to tooling, programs, fixtures, material behavior, or process parameters.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeat issues.
- Support root cause analysis for machining-related quality issues.
- Analyze Target vs. Actual machining hours and drive actions for machining hour reduction.
- Lead machining efficiency improvement initiatives such as cycle time reduction, tooling optimization, and process standardization.
- Implement and sustain 5S practices in machining areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety norms, SOPs, and standard work instructions.
Technical / Functional:
- Thorough knowledge of press dies/mold dies/ die casting dies function, operations and tooling.
- Hands on experience in shop floor supervision of double column CNC machines, Fanuc controller, NX, Tebis, MS Office.
- Ability to identify & resolve quality issues of machining quality, productivity, cost.
- Knowledge about QC tools like PDCA, 5 Why analysis etc.
- Understanding of Japanese manufacturing concepts like Kaizen, 5S, 3G etc.
- Good coordination, problem-solving skills and team handling capability
Preferred Organization:
- 4-wheeler OEMs with Die/machining/press/mold experience: KIA, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, VW, M&M, Renault, Nissan, MG, TATA, Bajaj, Eicher, Force Motors, etc.
- Tier-1 suppliers of dies/press part/plastic parts for OEMs.
Must have Skill:
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and automotive die manufacturing.
- Effective shop floor manpower and multi shift supervision skills.
- Ability to plan machining schedules and optimize machine utilization.
- Proven problem-solving capability using PDCA for machining and quality issues.
- Proficiency in die drawing interpretation and cross functional coordination.
