Job Purpose
To effectively manage the end-to-end supply chain, procurement, material planning, vendor coordination, logistics, and inventory management for construction and interior projects, ensuring timely availability of materials at site while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Purchase Management
- Prepare and manage procurement plans based on project requirements, BOQ, drawings, and site schedules.
- Source materials, equipment, and services from approved and reliable suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
- Prepare RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders, and work orders.
- Ensure procurement is carried out within the approved project budget.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams to finalize technical specifications and material requirements.
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
2. Material Planning & Supply Chain Coordination
- Prepare material procurement schedules aligned with project execution programs.
- Monitor material requirements from project initiation through completion.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, architects, consultants, and vendors regarding material requirements.
3. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, delivery performance, capacity, and reliability.
- Negotiate commercial terms and resolve vendor-related issues.
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical submissions, samples, drawings, GADs, approvals, and delivery commitments.
4. Logistics & Transportation
- Coordinate transportation of materials from suppliers/manufacturing units to project sites.
- Monitor dispatches, transit status, unloading, and receipt of materials.
- Coordinate with transport agencies for timely and safe delivery.
- Verify transportation documents, delivery challans, invoices, and related documentation.
- Handle logistics for remote and challenging project locations, including port, vessel, and island transportation where applicable.
- Maintain a database of approved suppliers and service providers.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, delivery performance, capacity, and reliability.
- Negotiate commercial terms and resolve vendor-related issues.
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical submissions, samples, drawings, GADs, approvals, and delivery commitments.
- Quality & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with QA/QC and technical teams to ensure materials comply with approved specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in construction procurement / SCM.
- Experience in construction materials, interior fit-out materials, equipment, and subcontract procurement is preferred.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
