Roles and Responsibilities
A QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of software by performing manual testing
and contributing to basic automation testing. The role involves identifying bugs, ensuring
requirements are met, and collaborating with developers for smooth delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project requirements; prepare test scenarios and query lists.
- Design, write, and execute manual test cases for web, mobile, and API applications.
- Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and usability testing.
- Verify multi-device, browser, and cross-platform compatibility.
- Contribute to basic automation test case creation and execution (using tools like Selenium, Postman, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
- Create clear and detailed bug reports, track defects, and work closely with developers to ensure fixes.
- Participate in test planning, reviews, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to software quality standards and testing best practices.
Skills Required
- Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing
Life Cycle (STLC).
- Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in basic automation testing (Selenium, Cypress, or similar).
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
- Ability to write and maintain test documentation (test cases, test reports, bug reports).
- Understanding of basic scripting/programming concepts (Java/Python preferred).
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Nice to Have (Optional):
- Knowledge of version control tools (Git/GitHub).
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
