Summary:
Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Responsible for system administration of Microsoft Windows Server environments, VMware virtualization infrastructure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform, and Ansible-based automation across a hybrid enterprise estate.

Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Administer Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File Services, and Windows Failover Clustering
Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi host administration, vCenter Server, vSAN, vMotion, DRS, HA, VxRail, and VM lifecycle management
Administer AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EBS, AMI management, and AWS Systems Manager for hybrid node management
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to automate Windows and Linux configuration management, patching, and provisioning across on-premises and AWS
Manage VMware templates, snapshots, cloning, and resource pool configuration to support efficient VM provisioning
Perform Windows Server patch management using WSUS or Azure Update Manager, coordinated via Ansible
Configure and maintain VMware NSX (basic), distributed virtual switches, port groups, and VLAN tagging
Monitor virtual infrastructure health, VM performance, ESXi resource utilization, and AWS CloudWatch metrics
Automate VM provisioning, decommissioning, and patch workflows using Ansible
Maintain infrastructure documentation, Ansible inventory, VMware topology maps, and operational runbooks

SLA / KPI Ownership:
Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI commitments across Windows Server, VMware, AWS, and Ansible automation platforms
Track MTTR (Mean Time to Resolve) and MTTA (Mean Time to Acknowledge) for all infrastructure incidents
Monitor VM availability, ESXi cluster health, patch compliance rates, and AWS resource utilization
Publish service performance reports and contribute to monthly service review decks
Client Facing Responsibilities:
Participate in war room calls during major infrastructure incidents affecting virtual or cloud environments
Handle escalation matrix and maintain clear communication with business and technical stakeholders
Provide timely status updates during incidents, maintenance windows, and VM provisioning change events
Participate in governance, service review, CAB, and capacity planning meetings
Coordinate with VMware Support, AWS Support, and Microsoft Premier Support for critical issue resolution
Technical Experience:
3 to 5 years of total experience in system administration covering Windows Server, VMware, and AWS in a hybrid environment
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere administration including vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, vMotion, DRS, and HA
Working knowledge of Windows Server administration including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and patch management
Practical experience writing Ansible playbooks for Windows and/or Linux configuration management and automation
Practical experience with AWS EC2, VPC, IAM, and Systems Manager in a production environment
VMware VCP-DCV or VMware vSphere Foundation certification preferred AWS SysOps Administrator Associate and Red Hat Ansible Automation certification a plus

Flexible to work in a hybrid on-call or 24/7 rotation model as required

Willingness to cross-train across VMware, AWS, and Ansible tooling and adopt IaC practices
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
