Position: Pharmacist
Reports to: Director, Public Health
Working Engagement: Onsite | 6 Days
Location: Anekal, Bengaluru, Karnataka
Compensation: Commensurate with working experience and qualifications
Role SummaryOBLF is a non-profit organization focused on improving outcomes in public health and education by strengthening community driven processes in the state of Karnataka, India. The OBLF team comprises 300+ staff members, with community educators, doctors, and paramedics who lead work under various initiatives on the ground.
We are looking for a committed Pharmacist for our Public Health team to ensure proper dispensing of medicines, maintenance of pharmacy inventory, and support delivery of quality healthcare services through OBLF clinics and community outreach programs. This is a full-time position based in Anekal, Bengaluru.
Key responsibilities:
Pharmacy Management
- Dispense medicines as prescribed by Medical Officers.
- Provide basic counselling on dosage, storage, and adherence to medicines.
- Ensure rational use of medicines and adherence to prescription protocols.
Inventory Management
- Maintain stock registers and medicine inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates of medicines and consumables.
- Prepare monthly indent and procurement requirements.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines as per guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of medicines dispensed.
- Update daily, weekly, and monthly pharmacy reports.
- Support data entry and record keeping as required.
Community Health Activities
- Participate in mobile clinics, health camps, and outreach activities.
- Assist healthcare teams during screening camps and community events.
- Support patient follow-up and referral activities when required.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Adhere to drug storage, dispensing, and safety guidelines.
- Support audits, monitoring visits, and reporting requirements.
Essentials
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Registered Pharmacist with the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council.
- Fluency in English is a must, and knowledge of Kannada (written and spoken) is preferred.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Know-how of digital tools such as MS Office, GSuite, etc., and a keen eye for details.
- Ability to coordinate with diverse teams, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Experience
- Fresher/one year of experience preferred.
- Freshers with good communication skills may also apply.
