Position: Junior Production Engineer
Job Summary
The Junior Production Engineer is responsible for supporting daily production activities, ensuring smooth manufacturing operations, maintaining product quality, and improving production efficiency. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring production processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and execute daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Supervise shop floor operations and ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain production reports, machine utilization records, and daily production data.
- Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Purchase departments for uninterrupted production.
- Identify production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations on the shop floor.
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor inventory consumption and minimize material wastage during production.
- Assist in machine setup, production planning, and scheduling activities.
- Train and guide operators on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best manufacturing practices.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 1–3 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Freshers with excellent academic performance and relevant internship/project experience may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of quality management systems and process control.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and production documents.
- Team player with the ability to work under production deadlines.
- Willingness to work in shifts and on the shop floor.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, or assembly processes (based on the manufacturing environment).
- Basic understanding of ISO standards and workplace safety practices.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
