We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst / Report Developer with hands-on experience in Google BigQuery (BQ) to join our team. This role will focus on transforming raw data into actionable insights by developing robust reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that drive informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of data modeling, and experience building scalable reporting solutions in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BigQuery and reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets within BigQuery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Optimize BigQuery queries and data models for performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reporting systems.
- Document data definitions, processes, and reporting logic to maintain transparency and reusability.
- Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and provide insights to drive strategic and operational decisions.
- Partner with data engineers to enhance pipelines, data models, and integrations into BigQuery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or Report Developer with Google BigQuery expertise.
Strong proficiency in SQL (including query optimization, window functions, and joins). Experience with at least one BI/visualization tool (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Solid understanding of data pipelining, ETL/ELT concepts, and data warehousing principles.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (GCP preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. Strong data & presentation abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to present insights effectively to technical and non technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Looker (LookML) or Looker Studio for dashboard/report development.
- Knowledge of construction industry datasets and tools preferred.
- Experience with version control (Git) and agile development practices.
- Background in working with large datasets in industries such as SaaS, finance, healthcare, or construction.
