Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Labour Room Staff Nurse to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology team. The candidate will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care to women during labour, delivery, and the immediate post-delivery period, while assisting doctors and the clinical team during normal and emergency obstetric procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients admitted to the labour room.
- Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, and progress of labour.
- Assist doctors and obstetricians during normal and complicated deliveries.
- Prepare patients, equipment, instruments, and medications for delivery and procedures.
- Assist during emergency obstetric situations and follow hospital protocols.
- Maintain proper aseptic and infection-control practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide immediate post-delivery care to mothers and newborns.
- Assist with newborn care and support during the immediate postnatal period.
- Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, and labour documentation.
- Ensure proper availability and readiness of labour room equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, doctors, and other healthcare staff.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient-safety procedures.
Requirements
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent nursing qualification.
- Valid nursing registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Previous experience in a Labour Room / Obstetrics & Gynaecology department is preferred.
- Good knowledge of labour room procedures, maternal monitoring, and infection control.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in Labour Room, Obstetrics, Maternity, Delivery Room, or OBGYN nursing will be preferred.

Salary: Rs 20000 to Rs 26000 month, depending on experience and qualification.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
