We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to head the Department of Mathematics and drive excellence in teaching, research, and departmental administration.
Position Overview
The Head of the Department (HOD) – Mathematics will be responsible for providing academic leadership, managing departmental operations, mentoring faculty, and ensuring high standards in teaching and research. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials, leadership experience, and a passion for advancing mathematical education in engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Department of Mathematics
- Plan and implement academic curriculum as per AICTE/VTU norms
- Ensure effective delivery of undergraduate mathematics courses for engineering programs
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the department
- Promote research activities, publications, and funded projects
- Oversee academic planning, workload distribution, and departmental budgeting
- Maintain compliance with university, AICTE, and accreditation requirements (NAAC/NBA)
- Coordinate with other departments for interdisciplinary academic support
- Organize seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and faculty development programs
- Monitor student performance and implement strategies for academic improvement
Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D. in Mathematics (Mandatory)
- Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience in Engineering Colleges/Universities
- Prior experience as HOD/Associate Professor with administrative responsibilities preferred
- Strong research background with publications in reputed journals
- Experience with accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA) is an added advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
