Job Description – Maintenance Manager

Position: Maintenance Manager
Location: Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu
Experience: 12–18 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics strong relevant experience may also be considered.
Role Purpose
Responsible for leading the overall plant maintenance function and ensuring high equipment availability, minimum unplanned downtime, safe operations and effective maintenance cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Electrical, Mechanical and Utility Maintenance activities across the manufacturing plant.
Develop and execute Preventive, Predictive, Condition-Based and Breakdown Maintenance programs.
Drive machine availability, reliability, MTBF improvement and MTTR reduction.
Plan and monitor annual maintenance calendars and shutdown/overhaul activities.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repeated equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
Manage maintenance manpower, shift deployment, skill development and performance.
Monitor critical machines, production equipment, utilities and facility infrastructure.
Ensure availability and control of critical spare parts, tools and consumables.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Safety, Stores and external vendors.
Prepare and control the maintenance budget and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, electrical safety and plant safety requirements.
Drive TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Monitor maintenance KPIs and prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports.
Ensure maintenance records, equipment history, PM checklists and audit documents are properly maintained.
Lead contractors and service providers and ensure quality and timely completion of maintenance work.
Develop maintenance standards, SOPs and equipment-specific checklists.
Support new machine installation, commissioning, modification and facility expansion projects.
Develop a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and elimination of recurring failures.
