JOB DESCRIPTION – HOSPITAL DRIVER
Position: Hospital Driver

Location: Thanjavur
Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible, experienced, and reliable Hospital Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for patients, doctors, staff, medical documents, and hospital-related materials. The driver must maintain the assigned vehicle in good condition and follow all hospital safety and traffic regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, doctors, staff, and hospital personnel as required.
- Operate hospital ambulance/vehicle responsibly and follow traffic rules.
- Assist patients, particularly elderly and mobility-impaired patients, while boarding and getting down from the vehicle.
- Respond promptly to emergency transportation requirements when assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic hygiene of the assigned vehicle.
- Perform daily checks of fuel, tyres, brakes, lights, battery, and other essential vehicle components.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, or maintenance requirements immediately to the administration.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks, trip records, fuel records, and other required documents.
- Ensure the vehicle has valid insurance, registration, permit, and other required documents.
- Transport hospital documents, samples, medicines, equipment, or other materials when required.
- Maintain patient and hospital information confidentiality.
- Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.
- Perform other transportation-related duties assigned by hospital management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Driving Licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
- Minimum 2–3 years of driving experience; hospital/ambulance driving experience will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of local routes in Thanjavur and surrounding areas.
- Good driving record and responsible driving habits.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Physically fit and capable of assisting patients when required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Should be punctual, disciplined, polite, and patient-friendly.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and emergency situations when required.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a hospital, ambulance service, or healthcare organization.
- Valid First Aid/Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge is an advantage.
- Familiarity with emergency transportation procedures.

Shift: Rotational / As per hospital requirements
Salary: As per experience and hospital norms
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
