Job Title: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – English

Reports To: Principal / Academic Coordinator
Job Summary
The TGT English Teacher is responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students of Classes VI to X as per the CBSE curriculum. The role involves fostering students' proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking while creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective English lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach English Language, Literature, Grammar, Composition, and Communication Skills.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities through interactive teaching methods.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and learning materials.
- Conduct class tests, periodic assessments, projects, and examinations.
- Evaluate answer scripts and provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
- Monitor student progress and provide remedial support where required.
- Encourage participation in debates, elocution, creative writing, storytelling, dramatics, and other literary activities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and academic performance.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Communicate students' academic progress and behavioural development with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, workshops, examinations, school events, and other academic activities.
- Perform additional academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the school authorities.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in English.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Mandatory.
- Master's Degree (M.A. English) – Preferred.
- CTET/TET qualification – Preferred, as applicable.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school is preferred.
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge and communication skills may also be considered.

- Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and assessment practices.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital teaching tools.
