We represent over 80 international audio brands and manage roughly 300 import shipments per year. As an AEO-T3 recognized importer, we pride ourselves on a highly efficient supply chain, and we are looking to take our freight operations to the next level.
The Challenge & Role We represent 80 brands in India and imports are spread across regions. However currently, a majority of our imports originate from the China (Guangdong/Shenzhen) and Hong Kong regions, shipping individually via direct express couriers (FedEx/DHL). We are hiring an experienced Logistics Consultant to transition our operations from a direct-courier model to a highly optimised Consolidated Airport-to-Airport (A2A) freight model.
Goal is to guide our internal logistics department in setting up origin hubs, optimising volumetric weights, and routing cargo directly into Chennai Airport (MAA) to fully leverage our AEO-T3 direct clearance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Origin Consolidation: Help establish and negotiate rates with 3PL hubs in Shenzhen/Hong Kong to aggregate multi-vendor shipments.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable A2A (Airport-to-Airport) air freight rates from China / HKG to MAA via digital forwarders or airline cargo agents.
- Vendor Transition: Formulate the strategy to transition our 80+ suppliers from EXW/direct-courier Incoterms to FOB Shenzhen/Hong Kong.
- Volumetric Optimization: Implement standard operating procedures at origin hubs to unbox bulk packaging and eliminate dimensional weight penalties.
- Process Integration: Align the new A2A MAWB routing perfectly with our existing AEO-T3 automated ICEGATE clearance and direct terminal pickup at Chennai Airport.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in international air freight, express couriers, and cross-border e-commerce logistics.
- Trade Lane Expertise: Deep knowledge of the China/HK to India (specifically MAA) air cargo corridors.
- Customs Insight: Strong understanding of Indian Customs, particularly AEO-T3 privileges, Automated Out of Charge (OOC), and direct terminal pickups without or minimise courier brokerage or clearing agent.
- Proven Results: A track record of drastically reducing freight expenditure in Imports related operations
- Advisory Skills: Ability to work remotely, consult strategically, and provide actionable roadmaps for our in-house team to execute.
Candidates based in chennai will be preferred. Regular visits to office at mutual convenience is required to understand business and review .
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
