Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of South Indian Cuisine:
- Prepare authentic South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambhar, rasam, and a variety of chutneys.
- Cook specialty dishes from different South Indian states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana).
- Food Quality and Hygiene:
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols as per local health regulations.
- Menu Development:
- Assist in planning and developing traditional and fusion South Indian menus.
- Introduce seasonal and innovative dishes to attract customers.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory for South Indian ingredients such as rice, lentils, spices, and condiments.
- Ensure timely procurement and minimize wastage.
- Cooking Equipment:
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment like dosa tawa, idli steamers, and grinders.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other chefs and kitchen staff.
- Train junior cooks in South Indian cooking techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a South Indian cook (minimum 2-3 years).
- In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
