Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cath Lab Technician with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The candidate will assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures while ensuring patient safety, equipment readiness, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, and stent placement.
- Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Operate and monitor Cath Lab equipment including fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and contrast injectors.
- Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any abnormalities to the physician immediately.
- Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot Cath Lab instruments and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of catheters, wires, and contrast media.
- Assist in post-procedure care and patient transfer as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records, procedure logs, and inventory documentation.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Cath Lab Technology, Cardiac Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Cath Lab.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, cath lab procedures, and medical terminology.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring systems and imaging equipment.
- Ability to work in emergency and high-pressure situations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, on-call duties, and emergencies.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Cath Lab Technology or Cardiac Care (if applicable).
- Knowledge of radiation safety and basic life support (BLS/ACLS preferred).
