Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Technical Sales Engineer to drive our B2B sales growth, manage high-value client portfolios, and expand our market footprint. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering solutions and commercial viability. You will be responsible for end-to-end client management—from technical prospecting and proposal engineering to high-stakes negotiation, deal closure, and long-term customer retention. Additionally, you will lead a team of junior sales engineers, ensuring collective alignment with company revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. B2B Sales & Key Account Management
- Lead the end-to-end B2B sales cycle for complex engineering/technical products and services.
2. Techno-Commercial Proposal Preparation
- Collaborate with technical, estimation, and product engineering teams to draft highly precise technical scopes of work.
- Formulate comprehensive commercial bids, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI models that clearly articulate economic value alongside technical superiority.
- Ensure all compliance, regulatory guidelines, and technical parameters align with RFP/RFQ requirements.
3. Negotiation & Deal Closure
- Formulate and execute negotiation strategies for high-value contracts, managing variables like pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and credit terms.
- Confidently present solutions to technical buyers, procurement departments, and C-suite decision-makers.
- Expedite contract finalization and effectively close transactions while preserving targeted profit margins.
4. Customer Relations, Follow-up & Retention
- Maintain an assertive, structured follow-up cadence through long enterprise sales cycles to move pipelines forward.
- Act as an advocate for the customer internally to resolve engineering hurdles and ensure pristine after-sales execution.
- Conduct periodic business reviews to identify renewal opportunities, upsells, and cross-sells, securing maximum client retention.
5. New Client & Territory Development
- Identify, map, and penetrate untapped industrial sectors, regional territories, and customer segments.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of new opportunities through systematic market research, cold outreach, and industry networking.
- Monitor competitor landscapes, tech trends, and evolving industry standards to uncover first-mover advantages.
6. Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, mentor, and upskill a team of junior Technical Sales Engineers and account executives.
- Set clear performance targets, monitor individual pipelines, and implement targeted coaching to bridge skill gaps.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews and ensure absolute discipline in CRM data hygiene.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related technical field). An MBA in Marketing or International Business is also acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years or 5–8 years of proven track record in B2B technical sales, industrial sales, water- waste water process & treatment or enterprise solution selling. Prior experience with Pumps Industry, Rotating Equipments, Process & Manufacturing industries, Fire Fighting System & Solution for Building & Construction is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Competence: Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, engineering datasheets, and easily comprehend complex software/hardware systems.
- Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of incoterms, taxation, margin calculations, and contract legalities.
- Tools: Expert proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho), MS Excel for financial modelling, and professional presentation tools.
- Soft Skills: Superior negotiation capabilities, empathetic listening, exceptional presentation skills, and the resilience to navigate long corporate sales cycles.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for on-site client inspections, technical evaluations, and closing meetings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic key accounts, nurturing deep executive and engineering-level relationships.
- Analyze customer technical requirements to map and deliver tailored engineering solutions that solve business critical challenges.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
