Job Summary
The person will be responsible for defining accurate pricing hierarchies across Modern Trade (MT) and General Trade (GT) channels—from MRP to Net Landing Price—and designing effective trade schemes to support sales objectives. Also, the person will act as a key liaison between the sales team and internal stakeholders, ensuring that all pricing changes, discounts, and promotional bundles are implemented accurately and communicated effectively.
TRADE SCHEMES & SALES SUPPORT
- Collaborate with the sales team to design and deploy periodic discount structures, trade schemes, and tactical bundle offers.
- Analyze sales data to propose effective promotional strategies that drive volume across both MT and GT verticals.
- Calculate the financial impact of proposed schemes to ensure alignment with margin targets before rollout.
Key Deliverables
1. PRICING STRUCTURE MANAGEMENT
- Define and maintain robust pricing structures, including Maximum Retail Price (MRP), trade prices, and net landing prices for the entire product portfolio.
- Manage distinct pricing strategies for Modern Trade channels (Large Format Retail, Regional Retail Chains) and General Trade channels (Distributors, Wholesalers, and Retailers).
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to recommend adjustments that maintain profitability and market competitiveness.
2. IMPLEMENTATION & COMMUNICATION
- Ensure the accurate and timely implementation of all price changes and scheme activations in the system.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for all stakeholders regarding pricing updates, ensuring sales teams and channel partners are informed well in advance.
- Work closely with the top management & key decision makers and assist with the timely data and reports.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of channel sales dynamics (General Trade vs Modern Trade).
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and ERP systems.
- Good at data visualization; ability to translate complex data into actionable pricing insights.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate well with the top management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between back-end finance and front end sales teams.
- High level of accuracy in managing numerical data and system entries.
- Ability to work cross functionally with sales and internal teams.
