Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Tool & Die Maker with hands-on experience in plastic injection mould assembly, maintenance, and repair. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of tool room operations and be capable of independently handling mould maintenance activities while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, maintain, and troubleshoot plastic injection moulds.
- Perform mould repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct mould trials and resolve issues to ensure smooth production.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Gauge.
- Operate tool room machines including Milling Machine, Surface Grinder, Lathe Machine, Drilling Machine, and EDM (preferred).
- Ensure moulds are maintained as per quality standards and production requirements.
- Identify defects and recommend corrective actions to improve mould performance.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and follow safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Experience in assembly, fitting, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plastic injection moulds.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of tool room machines such as Milling, Surface Grinding, Lathe, Drilling, and EDM (preferred).
- Experience in mould trials, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Candidate
- ITI Tool & Die Maker or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in plastic injection mould manufacturing or tool room.
- Positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.
