Role Purpose
To lead JeevaRaksha’s Relief & Rehabilitation vertical with a strong focus on disaster management capacity building, institutional preparedness, compliance with government mandates, and large-scale implementation of programmes. This role is central to enabling system-wide disaster preparedness by ensuring that institutions and communities are not only compliant with mandates but are trained, equipped, and ready to respond effectively, ultimately saving lives at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Build and scale the Relief & Rehabilitation vertical aligned with JeevaRaksha’s mission of saving lives through timely, skilled intervention.
Programme Implementation (Core Focus):
o Drive adoption of disaster management training in line with national/state guidelines, including engagement with bodies such as the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM).
o Lead outreach and liaison with government departments, workplaces, and educational institutions to advocate for mandatory disaster preparedness training.
o Oversee execution of training programmes for staff, students, employees, and community members across diverse settings.
o Support the establishment and operationalisation of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) clubs in institutions, in accordance with government norms.
o Ensure standardisation, quality, and scale in training delivery across geographies.
Disaster Response: Lead implementation of disaster response preparedness and SOPs in diverse institutions, workplaces, organizations and public spaces building resilient spaces and communities. Mobilize stakeholders and lead teams for immediate response, relief and rehabilitation during mass disasters in diverse geographies.
- Government Engagement: Collaborate with national and state bodies to align programmes with disaster management frameworks and public health priorities.
- Capacity Building: Design and implement disaster management and emergency care curricula tailored for first responders.
- Monitoring & Impact: Establish data-driven systems for tracking training coverage, compliance, and impact.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performance, mission-driven team across training and field operations.
- Knowledge & Thought Leadership: Document learnings and position JeevaRaksha as a leader in health-focused disaster preparedness.
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in disaster management, emergency care, or large-scale training programmes.
- Strong experience in government liaising and programme implementation at institutional scale.
- Proven expertise in training delivery, curriculum development, and capacity building across sectors.
- Hands-on experience in disaster relief and rehabilitation.
- Advanced degree in Disaster Management, Public Health, Emergency Medicine, or related field.
