Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible ETP Chemist to manage effluent treatment plant operations, conduct water analysis, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes and chemical handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor ETP operations as per standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Conduct routine testing of effluent and treated water parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, and other required tests.
- Maintain daily records of plant operations, chemical consumption, and laboratory reports.
- Prepare and handle treatment chemicals and ensure proper dosing as instructed by the Plant In-charge.
- Monitor performance of pumps, blowers, motors, and other equipment; report abnormalities.
- Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of ETP equipment.
- Ensure proper sludge handling, housekeeping, and cleanliness of the ETP area.
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE while handling chemicals.
- Report operational issues, breakdowns, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Support internal inspections, audits, and sample collection activities.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Plant In-charge or Management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of experience in ETP operations and basic water analysis.
- Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and chemical handling.
- Understanding of safety practices and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of water testing instruments and lab procedures
- Attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work in shifts and in plant environments
