Job Title: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor [ Osteopathy ]
An Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor of Osteopathy plays a vital role in academia by shaping the next generation of manual therapists and holistic healthcare practitioners. This role spans classroom lectures, research mentorship, and intensive hands-on clinical supervision for BSc (Undergraduate) and MSc (Postgraduate) students. Core Responsibilities
1. Academic Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Lecture Presentation: Deliver high-quality lectures on core subjects including Advanced Human Anatomy & Physiology, Clinical Biomechanics, and Postural Assessment.
- Practical & Lab Instruction: Demonstrate and guide students through specialized hands-on techniques, such as spinal and pelvic mechanics, visceral techniques, cranial osteopathy, and soft-tissue mobilization.
- Curriculum Design: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating the BSc and MSc syllabi to incorporate the latest evidence-based practices.
2. Clinical Supervision
- On-Site Mentorship: Supervise students during their mandatory clinical training hours at university clinics or attached teaching hospitals.
- Diagnostic Guidance: Oversee students as they conduct patient case histories, perform palpation, formulate differential diagnoses, and map out complete treatment plans.
- Patient Care Auditing: Ensure student interactions maintain high ethical standards, precise electronic recordkeeping, and safe, non-invasive execution.
3. Research & Scholarly Activity
- Student Thesis Advising: Act as a research supervisor for MSc postgraduate dissertations and independent BSc projects.
- Publications: Conduct active research in field-specific domains (e.g., musculoskeletal disorders, neuromuscular biomechanics) and regularly publish in peer-reviewed, indexed medical journals.
- Grants & Networking: Draft research funding proposals and represent the university at national and international health conferences.
4. Departmental & Administrative Duties
- Assessment & Examination: Create, administer, and grade written exams, practical assessments, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
- Committee Involvement: Participate in academic faculty meetings, institutional accreditation pipelines, and student admission counseling.
