Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Store Associate to join our team at SPECTRA EYE HOSPITAL. The ideal candidate will assist customers with selecting and fitting glasses, provide excellent customer service, and support clinical staff by performing diagnostic tests such as perimetry and biometry, if qualified.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in choosing appropriate glasses and frames based on their prescription and preferences.
- Measure and fit eyeglasses accurately.
- Maintain inventory, manage stock levels, and handle sales transactions.
- Provide clear information about lens options, coatings, and prices.
- Perform basic eye tests to assist optometrists, including perimetry (visual field testing) and biometry (ocular measurements), if trained and certified.
- Ensure all optical equipment is clean, calibrated, and in good working condition.
- Educate customers on proper care and maintenance of their eyewear.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other clinical staff to ensure seamless patient experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical store area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or diploma in opticianry or related field preferred.
- Experience in retail sales, especially in optical products, is an advantage.
- Knowledge or training in perimetry and biometry testing is highly desirable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle precise measurements.
- Customer-focused attitude with problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills (Optional but preferred):
- Ability to operate perimetry machines and biometry devices accurately.
- Basic understanding of eye anatomy and common vision problems.
