Production Manager / Head Operation
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that manufacturing goals are met efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills to manage production staff, maintain production schedules, optimize workflow, drive efficiency.
Main duties/responsibilities
o Plan and coordinate production activities to ensure timely completion of production targets.
o Develop and implement production schedules, balancing production capacity with demand.
o Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control cost.
o Supervise and motivate production staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
o Enforce company policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
o Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, quality control, and logistics, to ensure seamless production operations.
o Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate measures.
o Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate raw materials and finished goods are available to meet production demands.
o Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
o Report on production progress, performance metrics, and any issues to senior management.
o Plan and coordinate production activities across the entire precision machining process chain to ensure timely achievement of output and delivery targets.
o Develop and adjust production schedules, balancing machining capacity with downstream process constraints, including heat treatment furnace cycles and plating line loading, to minimize work-in-progress and waiting time.
o Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs, with a focus on dimensional accuracy, process stability, and first-pass yield across all operations.
o Supervise and motivate the production team, providing training and guidance as needed, including technical instruction on heat treatment, plating, and precision inspection methods to enhance operator competency and self-inspection capability.
o Enforce company policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment, with particular emphasis on high-temperature operations, chemical handling, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
o Collaborate with procurement, quality control, engineering, and logistics departments to ensure smooth production flow, coordinating with quality on metallurgical testing, hardness verification, coating thickness measurement, and corrosion resistance evaluation for heat-treated and plated components.
o Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions, addressing key challenges such as thermal distortion, plating thickness variation, and machining tolerance control through systematic problem-solving methods.
o Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods are available to meet production demands, including heat treatment consumables and plating chemicals as needed.
o Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime, covering machining centers, heat treatment furnaces, and plating lines with a robust preventive maintenance program.
Report on production progress, performance metrics, and any issues to senior management, highlighting overall equipment effectiveness, quality rejection rates, and cost performance across the precision machining operation.

Experience and knowledge required for the role
o B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
o Experience in Zinc Plating, Nickel Plating, and Heat Treatment Processes
o Minimum of 15 years' experience in a production management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
o Strong knowledge of production processes, manufacturing methods, and quality control principles.
o Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
o Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
o Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
o Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. – Preferred
o Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in production. – Preferred
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month
