About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Japanese Language QA Reviewer to perform quality assessments of video accessibility deliverables, including Closed Captioning (CC) and Audio Description (AD).
The reviewer will independently evaluate the content against a defined quality assessment framework and provide detailed feedback and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Japanese Closed Captioning (CC) and/or Audio Description (AD) against the source video.
- Evaluate accuracy, completeness, relevancy, terminology, and timing.
- Identify errors, discrepancies, and quality issues with supporting timestamps.
- Score the deliverables according to the provided QA framework.
- Provide clear comments and observations for identified issues.
- Prepare objective and detailed QA assessment reports.
- Recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
- Maintain consistency and objectivity throughout the review process.
Note: This role is strictly for quality assessment and reporting. Direct correction of CC/AD content is not required.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese.
- Strong Japanese listening and reading comprehension.
- Experience in Closed Captioning, Subtitling, Audio Description, Localization QA, Accessibility QA, or Media QA.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with video timestamps/timecodes.
- Experience with QA guidelines, scoring, and reporting is preferred.
- Previous experience reviewing Japanese-language video content is an advantage.
Expected Volume
Approximately 40 videos per month, with an average duration of 50 minutes per video. Actual volume may vary based on project requirements.
