Job Summary:
As an Automotive Technician Trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and service managers to learn and develop the skills necessary for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on training and experience in a professional automotive service environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training and Development:
- Participate in structured training programs to learn automotive repair and maintenance techniques.
- Assist senior technicians in performing diagnostic procedures and repairs on vehicles.
- Attend workshops and training sessions to enhance technical knowledge.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections under supervision.
- Assist in diagnosing vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Learn to perform repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and provide updates on repair progress.
- Assist in explaining vehicle issues and repair recommendations to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Shop Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in automotive repair and maintenance.
