Industry: Chemical Manufacturing
We are a 20 year old chemical manufacturing company based in Kolkata, with our factory located near the Leather Complex and our Head Office conveniently situated near 4 No. Bridge, EM Bypass. To strengthen our finance team, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to take charge of our core accounting functions at the Head Office.
Role Overview:
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial records and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You will work alongside our existing team, which includes an accountant at the factory who is responsible for bill generation and a junior accountant at the Head Office who will support you with data entry tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally
- File monthly and annual GST Returns
- Handle TDS online returns, TDS challan payments, and reconciliation
- Manage Professional Tax registration, payments, and returns
- Ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping and reconciliation
- Coordinate with the external CA firm for account finalization
- Supervise and guide the junior accountant for smooth day-to-day operations
- Stock Management
- Is able to maintain ESI and PF formalities
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Tally and accounting principles
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Professional Tax
- Prior experience in managing accounts in a manufacturing setup is a plus
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Good organizational and communication skills
