Job Summary / Purpose
A Senior Finance professional responsible for managing end-to-end accounting, statutory compliance, and payroll operations in accordance with Indian regulations. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely tax filings, and compliant payroll processing, while strengthening internal controls and supporting business decision-making through financial insights.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Sole finance resource for the India entity of a US-listed group, also providing accounting support for Australia entity activities. Responsible for maintaining accurate books, delivering month-end close outputs on time, ensuring statutory compliance, and coordinating tax filings through external advisors within a structured global finance framework.
US team owns close framework and timeline. India is accountable for delivering India (and assigned Australia) entity outputs on time.
This is a high-trust Finance Lead role responsible for accurate entity reporting and disciplined delivery within a global framework, requiring strong ownership, planning, and independence.
Accounting & Month-end Close
- Full ownership of India GL
- Support accounting for Australia entity (journals, reconciliations, reporting inputs)
- Journal postings: accruals, prepayments, payroll, FX, fixed assets
- Balance sheet reconciliations (India + assigned Australia accounts)
- Ensure WD1 close deliverables are completed accurately and on time-
Reporting
- Maintain Indian GAAP books for local audit
- Maintain US GAAP books for month end close
- Assist with consolidation adjustments and FX entries
- Provide month-end reporting inputs for Australia entity-
Statutory, Tax & Compliance Coordination
- Ensure timely completion of statutory filings (GST, TDS, corporation tax, MCA filings) through external advisors
- Act as primary contact for India tax and compliance consultants
- Support coordination for Australia entity compliance with local advisors (as applicable)
- Provide accurate financial data (TB, schedules, reconciliations) for filings
- Track deadlines and ensure submissions are completed on time
- Review filings prepared by consultants for consistency with books
- Support statutory audit and financial finalisation
- Transfer pricing cordination
AP & Payments
- Review AP payment runs in D365
- Set up/upload payment files in bank
- Ensure accuracy of payment batches
Stakeholder Management
- Finance Manager (Ireland)
Auditors, tax consultants, Company Secretary
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.com Commerce, MBA Finance
- Skills: Indian Accounting (GAAP), Compliance, Payroll
