Job Summary
The Garment Factory Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all electrical systems, machinery, and electronic equipment within the apparel manufacturing facility. The primary goal is to ensure maximum production uptime, prevent electrical hazards, and maintain smooth operations of industrial sewing lines, cutting sections, finishing areas, and utility systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Machinery Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Industrial Sewing Machines: Install, service, and repair electrical motors, control boxes, servo motors, and electronic panels for various sewing machines.
- Cutting & Spreading Equipment: Maintain automated fabric spreading machines, CAD/CAM cutting plotters, and band-knife cutting machines.
- Finishing & Pressing Equipment: Troubleshoot and maintain electrical components of steam irons, vacuum pressing tables, fusing machines, and tunnel finishers.
2. Plant Utilities & Power Distribution
- Maintain the main electrical switchyard, transformers, Diesel Generator (DG) sets, and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to ensure uninterrupted power to the production floor.
- Manage and troubleshoot the Power Factor Correction (PFC) panels and main distribution boards (MDBs).
- Oversee factory lighting, ventilation, and exhaust fan systems to maintain a comfortable working environment for operators.
3. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical installations to minimize sudden breakdowns.
- Respond immediately to electrical breakdowns on the production floor to reduce idle time for tailors and operators.
Key Performance Indicators
- Machine Downtime: Minimizing the percentage of production hours lost due to electrical faults.
- Response Time: How quickly breakdown calls from the production floor are attended to and resolved.
- Safety Record: Zero electrical accidents or fire hazards due to faulty wiring/maintenance.
- Energy Efficiency: Helping monitor and optimize power consumption across the factory floor.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Any Dgree (Licence)
- Experience: Fresher to 5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably within a garment manufacturing company.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of 3-phase power distribution systems.
- Tools: Proficiency in using testing equipment like multimeters, clamp meters, megger testers, and standard electrical hand tools.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
