Key duties include training staff, handling guest complaints, ensuring high cleanliness standards, and taking orders in fine-dining settings. Core Responsibilities of an F&B Captain:
- Supervision & Leadership: Supervises wait staff, assigns station duties, conducts briefings before service, and assists with training new hires.
- Guest Service & Interaction: Welcomes guests, takes orders (especially in fine dining), presents menus, and ensures guest satisfaction by checking in throughout the meal.
- Complaint Resolution: Handles guest issues or complaints immediately to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Service Coordination: Acts as the link between the kitchen/bar and service staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery.
- Operational Setup & Hygiene: Ensures the dining area, tables, cutlery, and linens are clean, hygienic, and properly set up before and during service.
- Billing & Closing: Manages guest billing, processes payments, and ensures all POS transactions are closed correctly at the end of the shift.
