Job Summary
The BOQ Head is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, quantity take-offs, budgeting, and tender documentation for construction projects. The role ensures accurate project costing and effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review BOQs based on drawings and project specifications.
- Perform quantity take-offs for civil, structural, and finishing works.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
- Coordinate with project, design, procurement, and billing teams.
- Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Verify contractor and subcontractor bills.
- Maintain BOQ revisions, variation orders, and cost records.
- Support management with project cost analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 5–10+ years of experience in quantity surveying, estimation, and BOQ preparation.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, rates, and costing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
- Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
