About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Cytotechnician Intern for a 15-day, hands-on internship at our Chennai laboratory. Interns will receive practical training in DNA Ploidy processing—an advanced early cancer detection technology with limited expertise available in India. Under the guidance of our senior laboratory team, interns will gain valuable experience in a specialized diagnostic technique, building skills that support a strong foundation for a future-ready career in cytopathology and diagnostic laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a Supportive Role alongside the Senior Lab Technician assisting with day-to-day laboratory operations.
- Gain hands-on experience in DNA Ploidy sample processing — under direct supervision.
- Assist with sample processing and slide preparation for Pap smear.
- Help maintain accurate sample records and lab documentation in line with quality standards.
- Follow standard laboratory safety, hygiene, and biohazard disposal protocols at all times.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and data privacy at all times.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree (completed or final year) in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT/MLT), Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Life Sciences, or related fields. B.Sc./M.Sc. candidates with relevant coursework are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of cytology, histopathology, or clinical laboratory procedures preferred (academic or internship exposure is sufficient).
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and handling of biological samples.
- Willingness to learn specialized cytology and cancer-screening techniques.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a lab team.
- Punctual, disciplined, and committed to completing the full internship duration.
