Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Payroll & HR Operations professional to independently manage end-to-end payroll processing and oversee core HR operations. The role requires strong expertise in statutory compliance, payroll governance, HR process optimization, and employee lifecycle management. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling responsibilities with minimal supervision and supporting the HR Head in strategic and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management (Core Ownership)
- Independently manage end-to-end monthly payroll for employees with high accuracy and timeliness
- Review and validate salary structures, incentives, deductions, overtime, arrears, and final settlements
- Ensure 100% statutory compliance including PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, and other applicable laws
- Prepare, analyze, and present payroll MIS, compliance reports, and audit data to management
- Coordinate closely with Finance/Accounts for salary disbursement, reconciliations, and audits
- Handle payroll audits, inspections, and statutory notices effectively
- Act as the escalation point for complex payroll queries and discrepancies
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee and streamline employee onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, and exit formalities (F&F, documentation)
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and HRMS data ensuring data confidentiality
- Supervise attendance, leave management, shift tracking, and policy adherence
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal HR policies
- Support and manage performance appraisal cycles, promotions, and salary revisions
- Draft, review, and approve HR communications and letters (Offer, Appointment, Confirmation, Warning, Relieving, etc.)
- Guide and mentor junior HR/payroll team members, if applicable
Process Improvement & HR Support
- Identify gaps and implement improvements in payroll and HR operational processes
- Support HR Head in audits, policy formulation, and compliance reviews
- Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and government authorities when required
- Provide HR operational support during inspections, audits, and management reviews
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in payroll processing and statutory compliance
- In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR operations
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, HRMS, and payroll software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality handling
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Commerce, Management, or a related field
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in Payroll & HR Operations
- Proven experience in handling end-to-end payroll independently
- Exposure to audits and statutory compliance is mandatory
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in manufacturing / FMCG / retail / corporate setup
- Immediate or short notice period preferred
- Hands-on, solution-oriented, and process-driven mindset
- Ability to handle senior-level responsibilities with minimal supervision
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
