Job Description – Purchase Manager (Construction Industry)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to oversee procurement activities for construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, managing supplier relationships, controlling costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Source and evaluate vendors based on quality, pricing, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Coordinate with project managers and site engineers regarding material requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and control procurement costs.
- Generate and manage Purchase Orders and procurement documentation.
- Maintain vendor relationships and conduct performance evaluations.
- Prepare procurement reports and cost analysis reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Required
- 8–10 years of experience in Procurement/Purchase Management.
- Minimum 5 years in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, or Contracting Industry.
- Experience procuring cement, steel, electrical, plumbing, hardware, tools, equipment, and finishing materials.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of construction materials and market pricing.
- Excellent analytical and cost-control abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP Systems, and procurement software.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
