Job Title: Tandoor Commis II (Second Commis)
Location: Seven Junction Hotel, Ambala
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Tandoor Commis II to join our kitchen team. The candidate will assist the Tandoor Chef in preparing high-quality tandoori dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook tandoori items such as rotis, naan, kulcha, lachha paratha, tandoori starters, kebabs, and other tandoor specialties.
- Assist the Senior Tandoor Chef in daily food preparation and service.
- Marinate meats, paneer, vegetables, and other ingredients as per standard recipes.
- Maintain proper temperature and safe operation of the tandoor oven.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Keep the tandoor section clean and organized before, during, and after service.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Chef about ingredient requirements.
- Minimize food wastage and handle raw materials responsibly.
- Work efficiently during busy service hours and support other kitchen sections when required.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in a tandoor section of a hotel or restaurant.
- Good knowledge of Indian breads and tandoori cuisine.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality during peak hours.
- Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and able to work in a high-temperature kitchen environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hotels, fine dining restaurants, or busy casual dining establishments.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen inventory and food storage practices.
