Role description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Storage & Backup Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data availability, security, scalability, performance, and compliance while supporting business continuity and disaster recovery objectives.
Key Responsibilities Storage Architecture
- Design and implement enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
- Develop storage architecture standards, roadmaps, and best practices.
- Perform storage capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and recommend storage technologies, platforms, and vendors.
- Lead storage migration, consolidation, and modernization initiatives.
- Ensure high availability and optimal utilization of storage environments.
Backup & Recovery
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
- Define backup, retention, archival, and recovery policies.
- Ensure backup success rates and recovery readiness through regular testing.
- Implement immutable backups, ransomware protection, and cyber recovery solutions.
- Establish and maintain Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
- Develop enterprise data protection strategies and governance frameworks.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Design and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures and replication solutions.
- Conduct DR drills, failover testing, and recovery validation exercises.
- Develop and maintain DR runbooks, recovery procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure business continuity requirements are met for critical applications and infrastructure.
Cloud Storage & Data Protection
- Design storage and backup solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms.
- Implement hybrid cloud backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Optimize cloud storage utilization and control operational costs.
- Manage secure data movement between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Establish cloud governance and compliance controls.
Security & Compliance
- Implement encryption standards for data at rest and in transit.
- Design secure backup and storage environments aligned with Zero Trust principles.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement ransomware protection strategies.
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage access controls, key management, and data security policies.
Operations & Governance
- Define operational procedures, standards, and architecture guidelines.
- Monitor storage utilization, backup health, and infrastructure performance.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management activities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to infrastructure teams.
- Collaborate with vendors, project teams, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 12+ years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Storage, Backup, and Disaster Recovery technologies.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale storage and backup environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
