Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and revenue-driven Business Development Manager to lead our B2C sales efforts. This role is focused on converting qualified leads into paid subscribers, driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with parents and students.
The ideal candidate is a strong closer who understands consumer sales, enjoys interacting with customers, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Sales Growth
- Own and achieve monthly revenue targets.
- Convert company-generated leads into paid subscriptions through demos, consultations, and follow-ups.
- Drive free-to-paid conversions from the existing user base.
- Promote annual and premium subscription plans to maximize customer value.
- Reduce early-stage churn through effective onboarding and customer engagement.
- Monitor and report sales performance, revenue metrics, and conversion rates.
Customer Engagement
- Conduct product demonstrations for parents and students.
- Clearly communicate the value proposition and benefits of MeraTutor.AI.
- Address customer objections and provide tailored solutions.
- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers.
Pipeline & CRM Management
- Manage leads effectively through CRM systems.
- Ensure timely follow-ups and maintain accurate sales records.
- Track lead progression and optimize conversion opportunities.
- Maintain excellent pipeline hygiene and reporting standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing to improve lead quality and messaging.
- Collaborate with Performance Marketing teams to understand funnel metrics and
customer acquisition strategies.
- Share customer insights and feedback with Product and Leadership teams.
- Support referral, community, and partnership-driven growth initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 5-7 years of experience in B2C sales, business development, or inside sales.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi.
- Experience conducting virtual product demos and customer consultations.
- Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing abilities.
- Analytical mindset with an understanding of sales metrics and conversion funnels.
Preferred
- Experience in EdTech, SaaS, Consumer Apps, or Subscription-Based Businesses.
- Understanding of customer acquisition funnels and performance marketing.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads, Google Ads, CAC, LTV, and conversion metrics.
- Experience selling to parents, students, or education-focused audiences.
- Knowledge of referral marketing and community-led growth strategies.
